We’re on iTunes!

Hey folks,

After a few delays, the album is finally available on iTunes:

Check it out!

A much-belated update

Hello folks,

Sorry for the lack of updates recently.

You may notice that ‘The Decline & Fall of…’ remains available for free download. Unfortunately, there’s been a bit of a delay in getting our album up on iTunes, so until we have that all sorted out (in the next week or so, hopefully) the album will remain up for free. Get it while it’s hot!

The band has taken a short break following the CD release show (which was great fun) – Ben and Anthony both took off on vacation, but everyone’s back now, so we’re going to get cracking on rehearsals again and there should be some announcements about upcoming shows and other exciting things coming soon.

Music videos are coming along for a few other songs from the new album, as well. Expect one in the next couple of weeks, and two more by fall.

Hope you’re enjoying the new album!

Album Download Troubles

Hi Folks,

Thanks to all the traffic (so cool to get linked on HardOCP!), the download for the ZIP of the full album is broken. We’re working to mirror it somewhere else, but in the meantime, you can still download every individual song on the album by clicking on the song titles, either in the entry below or in the Discography section. Sorry for the inconvenience!

EDIT: The files are back up. Check them out on our discography page!

Double EDIT: A couple people have noted problems unzipping the files. We’ll be reuploading today, but you can work around this by shortening the name of the file to just Decline.zip after you download it. Sorry for the continued inconvenience – we’ll get the kinks worked out eventually!

Music video for “A Drift” now online

Our second music video, for The Decline & Fall of… track “A Drift”, is now online. You can watch it right here:

It was shot by yours truly and features the lovely Andréa Evans showing off her very impressive hoola-hooping skills.

Enjoy!

Download ‘The Decline & Fall of…’ until ?

EDIT: Thanks to everyone! We had such an overwhelming response that the first download links caught fire. Problems are all fixed now. See the links below!

The whole album is now complete, is currently being pressed, and is available in its entirety for free download. Free download will be available until July 10, when the album will be available in stores. If you like it, we hope you copy on CD or download a copy from iTunes or Amazon after July 10!

Hope to see you at the CD release show at Alix Goolden Hall, July 10 at 7:00PM.

Stream “The Decline & Fall of…” Now!

A preview of our entire album is now available to stream right here, as well as on our “Discography” page.

We’re doing a few last-minute tweaks to the masters, which is why this is just streaming right now. As soon as we’re satisfied, we’ll make links available to download the whole thing.

EDIT: Removed the links from this post because we’ve got the final masters up on the discography page now. Check them out!

And we have a music video, too!

The Countdown Begins…

One month until Versa’s second album, The Decline & Fall Of… is released! July 10th, 2010 is the date, folks, and we’re just about ready to kick off the countdown. The album is almost/oh so close to being finished – just putting the finishing touches on a couple songs. In the next week or so, you’ll be able to download the WHOLE THING FOR FREE here at our website as a special preview. Of course, if you like the album, go out and buy a copy when it’s officially out on July 10th (and of course you’ll like the album…) – you’ll be able to get it from us directly, from Amazon, from iTunes, and by ordering it from your local record store.

Lots of exciting things are coming in the next couple of weeks, including music videos(!), live videos(!!), promotions, and maybe one or two other surprises. If you’re somewhere near Victoria, please pick up a ticket to come and see us at our CD release show at the absolutely-beautiful Alix Goolden Hall – you’ll get a free copy of the actually physical CD if you make it out. If you’re not a Victoria-ite, we promise we’ll try and make it to your town one of these days.

And here, because we love you, is a special early preview of the album – you can download the songs by clicking the names, or click the play button to stream them (removed – final versions are available on the Discography page).

Ch-ch-ch-changes

Audio embedding is working now and we have proper line breaks between blog entries – things are looking good!

On the down side, we have had to reschedule our CD release show from May 29th to July 10th (mostly because the album was done). However, you’ll get a chance to preview the album here within the next week or so, and we’ll be doing lots of promo in advance of the CD release show, so all-in-all it will be a good thing.

Work Continues

We’re working the kinks out of the website and will hopefully have things all straightened out in the next day or two.  So far the only major issue is our inability to embed music in the website – kind of an important thing for us!  Otherwise, it’s just some minor cosmetic changes and adding content, and then we’ll be totally flying.

For being such patient folks, here’s another fun link: Versa interviewed by Monday Magazine!
